Accessibility Statement

We want the guides on this site to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or a reduced-motion setting. This page states plainly what we aim for and what we have done.

The standard we aim for

We work toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the benchmark most commonly referenced for websites, and it is the one we measure against rather than guessing.

What is in place

  • Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element is reachable by keyboard, and the focus indicator is a visible 3px outline. A "Skip to content" link is the first thing a keyboard or screen-reader user reaches, so the navigation can be bypassed.
  • Screen readers. The page language is declared, headings run in a logical order with one level-one heading per page, navigation regions are labelled, and the current page is marked in the menu.
  • Images. Every image carries alternative text that describes what it shows, not just its filename.
  • Colour contrast. Body text measures roughly 11:1 against its background, well above the 4.5:1 minimum. Accent colours were changed in July 2026 after measurement showed the original gold fell short on light backgrounds.
  • Reduced motion. If your operating system requests reduced motion, transitions and animations are suppressed.
  • Text and zoom. Text is real text, not pictures of text, and the layout reflows when you zoom or use a narrow screen. Nothing depends on a fixed pixel size.
  • No traps. There are no carousels, autoplaying media, pop-ups or timed interactions to escape from.

This is the part that matters. If any page, guide or control on this site stops you from getting the information you came for, contact us and describe what happened, which page, and what you were using. We will reply and we will fix it, or explain honestly why we cannot.

Use the contact page. We aim to respond within five business days. If a specific piece of information is what you need, ask for it directly and we will send it in a format that works for you.

How we keep this accurate

We re-check contrast, headings, focus behaviour and alternative text whenever the design changes, and we update this page when the facts change rather than leaving it as decoration. This statement was last reviewed on the date shown above.
